ABOUT THE EVENT

People of Ari is excited to welcome the 'Changing Room Project,' an inspiring two-day event set to take place on August 17-18, 2024, at PoA White Box, Yellow Lane! Presented by Two Glasses LLP, this unique experience will blend culture, creativity, and community, focusing on the transformative power of clothing and sustainability. The event highlights are as follows:

  • Mindful Movement Somatic Meditation with Adelene Stanley & Crispian Chan
  • Sat 17-Sun 18, 9.15 - 10.45 & 11.15 - 12.45
  • A unique experience of mindful somatic meditation and movement where we will explore the mind-body connection through gentle movements and meditation practices to discover how your clothing choices reflect and influence your inner world. A professional Theatre and Dance photographer, whose work has been in The Guardian and The New York Times, will photo-document your journey's essence. No prior experience is required, just bring an open mind and a willingness to connect with your body and breath.

  • Ocean Lovers Trivia with Thammika Songkaeo & Win Watcharapong Hongjamrassilp
  • Sat 17-Sun 18, 13.30 - 14.45
  • A fun and enlightening trivia afternoon with bilingual Thai National Geographic Explorers Thammika Songkaeo and Win Watcharapong Hongjamrassilp, as we explore how clothing impacts marine life with questions about your favourite sea creatures! Discover the effects of land-based clothing on oceans, gain expert insights into combating fast fashion, and learn how your choices can make a difference. Compete in interactive quiz rounds for eco-friendly prizes, engage in a live Q&A for sustainable fashion tips, and connect with like-minded individuals passionate about ocean conservation.

  • Fabric of Legacy with Thammika Songkaeo
  • Sat 17-Sun 18, 15.30 - 16.45
  •  A meaningful hour to experience a ceremony and community of reflection on a piece of clothing you’d like to pass down to your child. Thammika Songkaeo, a writer whose novel was snatched by Penguin Random House for a 2025 reveal, will guide you through a reflective writing journey, ending with a gift in writing you can bring home to your child. In addition to your own journaling, meet like-minded parents who care about the sustainability of clothing for their children. Together, we will engage in discussions and get to know one another. This event promises to be a heartwarming and memorable experience, fostering connections and leaving a lasting legacy through the fabric of our lives.

  • Reflections in Motion with Adelene Stanley
  • Sat 17-Sun 18, 18.00 - 20.15
  • While many projects have pronounced fast fashion a climate change villain, Changing Room brings home how that villain is connected to our inner selves. It explores the harsh judgments many place on their bodies and the hope that clothes will solve these perceived issues. Following the film, audiences will be guided through a somatic practice led by Adelene Stanley — world-class movement artist and expert in movement-for-wellness. This practice is designed to help participants explore the tensions, spaces, and connections in their mind-body relationship. By engaging in this somatic exploration, participants can ultimately learn to flourish in their bodies, embracing a more holistic sense of self.
