ABOUT THE EVENT

Forbidden, Moved! 禁歌熱舞

With a feminist curiosity: How is freedom socially constructed?

Taiwanese artist SU PINWEN leads an embodied workshop revisiting Taiwanese pop songs banned during Martial Law (1949–1987). Through movement, creative response, and body-centered exploration, participants will reflect on the intersections of free will, survival, gender, and the body, and how systems of control shape the ways bodies adapt, endure, and exist across generations.

Participants are invited to engage with movement in their own chosen way, sharing an open afternoon of expression, reflection, and embodied inquiry.

SU PINWEN (he/they) is a Taiwanese feminist artist, Artistic Director of KUABO DANCE THEATRE Company, and resident artist at Chiayi Performing Arts Center. Their work explores body politics, the political body, and cross-disciplinary feminist practices.
