ABOUT THE EVENT
Two Bangkok-based theatre groups come together for a special double-feature evening titled "Night of Illusion," presenting two plays in distinct styles: “Going Nowhere” by Anti-thesis Theatre and “Chai/Pat Restage.” by Yoktai Theatre.
“Going Nowhere” is a spoken drama set in a mysterious antique shop with an elevator said to lead to the afterlife—or perhaps nowhere at all. Inspired by the works of the playwright's thesis production in 2019, the play explores questions of death, memory, and where we go (or don’t go) when we die.
“Chai/Pat Restage” is a piece that begins with two strangers preparing a funeral for a friend neither of them truly knows. As they sift through a room filled with memories and mementos, they attempt to uncover the identity and meaning of the person they’re honoring. This reimagined version adds a whole new character and deepens the sense of surreal mystery!
