On Sunday 11 June 2023, the sounds of violin filled the air as Thai-Swedish violinist and composer Anna Maria Olsson graced PoA's forest setting with her special performance titled "Soundscape and String Textures." Known for her minimal yet elaborate compositions using live multitrack violin, Anna captivated the audience with her cinematic soundscapes and lyrical melodies inspired by the natural world.
Using her talent and the aid of Ableton Live and MIDI pedals, Anna created mesmerising loops and layered textures with her violin, painting sonic landscapes that evoked the beauty of Scandinavian and Asian landscapes. Her compositions were drawn from her two solo albums, "Crossing Lines" and "Circles," as well as unreleased material and live improvisations. Each piece showcased the versatility of the violin and expressed Anna's unique musical vision.
